The quote is from his book, The Gulag Archipelago. The Bolsheviks used thieves in the Camps to help demoralize the Innocent People wrongly imprisoned. They stole everything from them and stole the scarce food that was sent to the Gulags. The History of Tattoos on Criminals, in Russia, stems from the time in the Gulags.
Yes, and happening in front of us in the U.S. Instead of incompetent to stand trial, the standard should be, was he competent to get up in the morning, put his clothes on, put a knife in his pocket, travel to and board the transit car, understand how to hold the knife? Then, that alone means he's competent. Did he commit the act of first degree murder? YES. Then whether he heard voices in his head or was listening to some thug rap song doesn't matter. He did the crime. Life in prison without parole or death? I would argue it's not about his mental state to stand trial. It should only be life in prison or death? I would say death if he poses a threat to others in prison. Society shouldn't be forced to pay for his lifelong incarceration either.
Death penalty should be MORE likely if you are too incompetent to know not to stab someone in the neck
Too stupid to know thats wrong? Just fucking take them out back and do the "not wrong" thing to them. Let them learn how wrong it is while they bleed out on the ground. This animal deserves worse

Should be required reading for the dummies we have today.
Absolutely. It is said to be the greatest book written in the last 100 years.
Have you actually read it?
I have yes--several decades ago.
Died in 2008.
Maybe his Twitter lives on,
He foresaw the future. Maybe he’s also a time traveler.
Then he is incompetent to be free. Execute him or kocknhim away for life. Justice would require he be put down.
Stick a knife in his neck and call it a day
Only one punishment..... ⚰️
