I never really thought of it as light, but it certainly makes sense because Christ who is the light of the world is in us, and it is the reason Christ said,"We are the light of the world" so why wouldn't it flow out of us. I always thought of it as power or anointing. Testimony: Once I visited A co-worker who was battling cancer and had a major operation, whatever they cut out of him, it required him to wear a bag, but though the operation was over they could not release John from the hospital, as they we're unable to get the toxins to flow into the bag. When I walked into the room to visit John, he jokingly said, "what did you forget to pray for me" which surprised me because he was an unbeliever, but he knew I was a Christian, so we laughed, but since he brought up prayer when I was about to leave, I said to John,do you want me to pray for you, and he said yes, so I laid my hands on in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, just like the Lord said to do "Go in my name lay Your hands on the sick and they shall recover". I prayed that the toxins would begin to flow, so that John could be released from the hospital and he could go hiking and stuff which he so enjoyed. After I finish praying, I left. A couple days later, Drew another man I work with, came up to me and said(again Drew is not a believer either) you visited John in the hospital didn't you, to which I replied yes rather surprise that he would know, but apparently he visited John after me, and John told Drew that I had prayedt for him, and that the minute I touched him, he felt instantly inside himself all those toxins release and then the nurse had to come in and change bag after bag. Sometime later I got a call from John, asking where we were going for breakfast, he was out of the hospital and wanted to meet us, so I told them and we waited in the parking lot, and when he got there, he jumped into the truck with, myself and two other coworkers, they began, asking John about updates and how he was doing, and as he was telling them, right in the middle of telling them, John turned to me in the backseat, and at the top of his lungs he said screened, you saved my life, you saved my life, and I began to say to him not me John it was, but before I could get those words out he says I know I know your friend, (meaning Jesus) right in front of the other men, isn't that something. I think word got around, and from time to time men would pull me aside, and tell me private things they would not tell the other men, and asked me to pray. This has been my experience time and time again. When Jesus said go in MY NAME lay Your hands on the sick and THEY SHALL RECOVER, that's exactly what he means, physically laying your hands, ON ALL WHO ARE OPEN TO RECEIVE HEALING, for as you said (Power or light) goes out of our hands, and physical healing occurs. I share this with you to encourage you or anyone else who reads this. And also, while we're at it something else very powerful that many believers miss or do not realize the extent of the power in our words.(Both positively and negatively) I have heard recently scientists talking about sound vibrations, bringing physical healing to the body. They're only finding that out now? But God's word has taught the healing principle of the spoken word (vibrations) throughout scripture, but especially emphasized in the time of Christ Ministry. Mark 11:23 and 24. "If you shall say to the mountain (the problem) and another place Christ said I tell you the truth"you shall have whatever you say" (numbers 14:28) God said "AS TRULY AS I LIVE SAITH THE LORD AS YOU HAVE SPOKEN IN MY YEARS SO WILL I DO TO YOU" in another place it is written "life and death are in the power of the tongue" in Revelation 12:11 it says, "they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and THE TESTIMONY OF THEIR LIPS" Romans 10:8 "The word is near you even in your mouth" Romans 10:10 "with the heart you believe unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation (Deliverance). Joel 3:10 "let the week say I am strong" Psalms 107:2 "let the redeemed of the Lord say so" in Proverbs it says "A man shall be satisfied with the fruit of his lips" 2 Corinthians 4:13 says"We believe therefore have we spoken" Jesus spoke to the winds and waves, He spoke to satan in the wilderness, Jesus spoke to Lazarus in the tomb, to the little girl who they said was dead, he spoke to the lame, the blind the deaf, he didn't just pray silently, he spoke (commanded) out loud. As you said about the light in our hands, and the untap potential in Christ, I agree 100%, I don't think we realize how powerful our words are also. Jesus said, "BY YOUR WORDS YOU SHALL BE JUSTIFIED AND BY YOUR WORDS YOU SHALL BE CONDEMNED" . James said the tongue was the rudder, and that it steers the ship (Our lives) in the direction of our words. And actually now that I think of it, in our armor as described in Ephesians chapter 6 the sword is the word of God, and in Revelation it says the double-edged sword(the word of God) comes out of the mouth of Christ, so then of course we should be using our words as a sword, and defeating sickness and Satan in our life. Maybe you know about the power of our words already, but somebody reading this it might help, it would pay (anyone) to do a study on, the effects of our words coming out of our mouth. For instance, Instead of saying, I'm so broke all the time let us change and say,"my God supplies all my needs" LET'S AGREE WITH GOD WITH OUR LIPS,instead of saying I'm so sick all the time, say instead "by his stripes I'm healed" instead of saying I am so fearful, let us say with God "I have not been given the spirit of fear but love power and a sound mind".
