Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland & Labrador (the 3 biggest oil and gas producers in Canada) all have active independence movements. Canada's welfare state will collapse if either of these provinces achieve independence/Statehood. As a pre-existing American colony at the signing of the Articles of Confederation, Newfoundland (along with Acadia, and Quebec) could become a State(s) WITHOUT a constitutional amendment (article XI). Anybody else up here ready for some Manifest Destiny?

It's going to biblical watching the loony liberals in the provincial capitol cities, gnashing their dentures when Alberta and Sask finally peel off.
It'll be even more entertaining to watch if the independence ends up meaning they join the US.
The TDS in those places is asylum-level.
If anyone thinks Ottawa is gonna let Alberta leave, I got some ocean front property to sell you outside Calgary.
I'll be dragged out, with constantly changing goalposts, then a demoralizing 51-49 loss.
