A few days ago, famed company Capcom released a new intellectual property game called Pragmata. The setting is on the moon, with Hugh, a spacefarer from Earth, along with an android who acts like a 6 year old girl called Diana. They must work together to fight an AI called ADUS, and then return to Earth.

The characters are very well writtern. The stoy is simple yet very emotional. Gameplay seems extremely fun and fast paced (I haven't played it - I just watched someone played it).

But the main drive of this game is how Hugh protects and cares for Diana, even though she has no relations with Hugh, who is single (i.e. not married, no kids). Hugh was an orphan and was adopted, so he does not believe the idea of a family has to be biological. Which means, if they take care of each other, they're family. Throughout the game Hugh became a father figure to Diana, thus a Nuclear family.

The Internet LOVED their interactions. Appropriately, they called it "Dad Simulator" and "Dad Space," a reference to another game "Dead Space" because of their similar settings. Fathers commented their nostalgia with their own kids, while non-parents want to start a family. One commented that it's according to Shizo Abe's plan (increasing birth rate). In one word, it is "wholesome."

It sold 1 million copies in 2 days, a sales success. Interestingly it took 6 years to develop, which bypassed COVID, the entire Biden Administration, along with prime ministers Suga, Kishida, and Ishiba. Capcom's rationale was to refine the gameplay, but I also think the political landscape plays a role also.

Something interesting happened. The woke influencers started whining and attacking the game VERY aggressively. Their immediate reaction when they see Diana are vile thoughts (think Cuties). The fact that both Hugh and Diana are White seemed to trigger them even more. These people said Capcom should've consulted with Western companies (i.e the woke ones like Sweet Baby Inc). The Internet rightfully called them out - their thoughts reveal more about them if they think the game is about PDFs and men shouldn't be fathers.

This game, along with another action game called Stellar Blade (which got attacked too), seem to mark a shift after all those woke games being shoved upon us for the past decade. We regular people are rejecting the woke games due to extreme fatigue and the influencers have overplayed their hand. Good days are certainly coming.
