I think both. But sometimes also if you modmail and ask nicely. I lost my Pepe when I got logged out and couldn’t remember my password so I eventually asked if I could get her back and was rewarded with a magical Pepe but now I have the surprised Pepe.

I think if you look at your profile you can find it. If you're on a PC browser it's at the top of the screen.
