I am currently using Yahoo (yes I know ;-) for the past 30 years. But lately am having tons of issues. Today I am locked out of my accounts for too many login attempts, and yes am using the correct signon and p/w but its not being recognized. Was finally able to get thru to Customer Support and they want to do a biometric verification with photo of state id or DL, plus a 'selfie' for retinal id, and I refused. So... any recommendations of an email provider to use. I use Spectrum for some things, not email and would really just like to have something I will stick with for another 30 years. Any advice? Thx in advance!

Safe and secure is just an illusion. But I use protonmail, while Gmail is my junk.
Proton , proton pass, simple login https://simplelogin.io/
When we interact with a person on Gmail...google has the email.
Been on the proton suite for two plus years, happy with it. FBI has not kicked door, so I guess secure 😁.
a. tuta.com (encryption of your account and mails. no access and logs)
b. cryptpad potential to completely self host your business-suite. You can use the flagship website or other community driven sites. Read to docs to understand the lengths at which they go.
Upvote for Tuta. It works very well if both the recipent and the poster are using Tuta and have both selected encrytion passwords.
Note that many "services" are engaged in this behavior. They are creating fake "security issues" with the intent of forcing you to comply with digital or biometric ID which is unlawful and unconstitutional. Banks have been doing this with "online access" for years now, starting heavily in 2021. Only the anti-debanking EOs (Aug2025) and threats of banking license terminations (as well as threats of criminal prosecution of bank CEOs by Trump admin) has temporarily halted this BS in the financial arena.
Excellent point! Two days later and painful (excruciating) calls, ending with 'sorry but we cannot help you BS.' Reminds me of the McAfee 'trojan horse' story, you are lead to believe one thing when in actuality its the exact opposite. Thank you for posting.
Zoho.com has worked for me.
