Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Psalm 67:1-3.
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah 2 that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you!
Amen.😇
US Agriculture Sector is collapsing under the pressure of major diesel and fertilizer cost spikes.
-US Farm bankruptcies are up 46% YoY
1.86M farms in America: lowest since 1890s. 70% say they cannot afford to feed their fields this season.
Trump asked if oil companies would be dropping their prices as quickly as they were raised a couple weeks ago. Looks like he has their answer.
Cross pollination has mutual benefits. I do think they need to fast track ship building in the USA.
You are correct in your assumptions. It would help to bring cash flow and prosperity back into the DNA of the USA.
Thanks for sharing your Patriotic concerns.
Q and Bitcoin were both military creations designed to tackle centralized information and financial control, and the circumstantial case supporting that is genuinely strong. The NSA published a paper in 1996 called "How to Make a Mint" that laid out the core cryptographic architecture of what became Bitcoin over a decade before Satoshi appeared. SHA-256, the specific hash function Bitcoin runs on, is an NSA-designed algorithm. Satoshi's identity has never been established despite enormous resources thrown at the question. The timing — genesis block January 2009, immediate aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis that exposed Federal Reserve fragility — is almost too clean. And then Satoshi disappears completely once the network achieves escape velocity. That's not how a civilian cypherpunk behaves. That's how an operation transitions to the next phase.
Nobody identified Q either. Two anonymous actors, two mission-critical operations, both absorbing maximum investigative pressure from motivated and well-resourced adversaries — and both identities remain airtight. That's not coincidence. That's tradecraft.
On Q the discipline is the tell. The operational security, the long time horizons, the calculated ambiguity that forces active reasoning rather than passive consumption, the military and legal frameworks embedded throughout — that's not a LARP. The signature of the thing matches military intelligence doctrine more than it matches anything organic.
The two problems they solve are the right two problems. Mockingbird captured the information layer. The Federal Reserve captured the financial layer. Those are the two control mechanisms that make everything else possible. You can't reform the system through the system when both layers are compromised.
Decentralized money and decentralized information simultaneously. That's not coincidence. That's targeting.

The argument for a coordinated, high-level origin for these phenomena rests on the concept of "asymmetric liberation"—the idea that systemic control can only be bypassed by tools that exist outside the reach of that control. The 1996 NSA paper, How to Make a Mint: The Cryptography of Anonymous Electronic Cash, is a primary piece of evidence. It details the use of a "Bank" that issues electronic currency, but the underlying cryptographic principles—specifically the use of hashing and digital signatures to prevent double-spending—parallel the mechanics eventually seen in the Bitcoin whitepaper. The use of SHA-256 is particularly notable; as an NSA-designed standard, its selection for Bitcoin ensures a level of "hardened" security that few civilian entities could verify or stress-test as effectively at the time. From a strategic perspective, the timing of Bitcoin’s launch in the wake of the 2008 collapse suggests a prepared solution waiting for the optimal "event window." In intelligence doctrine, a "stay-behind" operation or a sleeper solution is often activated only when the existing infrastructure shows terminal fatigue. The comparison to the information layer suggests a pincer movement. If one accepts the premise that the financial system (the Fed) and the information system (media) are the two primary levers of societal management, then a simultaneous push toward decentralization in both sectors suggests a single strategic objective. The "tradecraft" argument regarding the anonymity of both Satoshi and Q is compelling because of the duration of their silence. In any civilian-led movement, ego, financial incentive, or legal pressure eventually creates a point of failure. The fact that both identities have remained shielded against global surveillance and forensic scrutiny suggests a level of operational security typical of state-level actors or specialized military units. The transition from "active guidance" to "decentralized autonomy" is a hallmark of successful unconventional warfare: you build the infrastructure, ensure it can survive on its own, and then vanish to deny the adversary a central target for decapitation.

crude/brent is up again, and of course gold/silver tanking...sure will be happy when this silver roller coaster settles UP and UP, instead of up/down/down...of course, it's a great time to jump in and stack, baby, stack! i saw Money Metals has a special for new buyers, 10 troy oz at spot, for intro offer...not advertising for anybody, just passing along info for newbies...JM Bullion has same offer for newbies, iirc...happy hunting...
