Its something that occurred to me this morning when I woke up and checked all the news. But if its ALL maps that are effected, we'll probably see a lot of supermajorities at the state level. meaning we can ram through a lot of stuff at the state level if non RINOs get in.
On top of that, you will probably have a massive red shift in blue states that use this strategy as well. NY for example, while maybe not turn into a red state as far as the state level house/senate goes, would probably become more competitive. Likewise, swing states (PA, MI, etc.) would probably swing back to being mixed government states with liberal governors and republican legislatures.
And all of this is without accounting for cheating, which would further boost red positions/margins if we finally stomp it out.
Just food for thought.
Drawing maps for voters, whether the boundaries are for federal seats or state house seats, gerrymandering would not apply for the same purpose.
However, scotus is offering reflections of law, instead of the true color. Just like churches with scripture, orating their reflection to fit culture/politics. Courts are bending law for their friends, and Masters who got them appointed.
