But how can the govt mandate a company to do anything to their product. Makes no sense

Just wait until you hear about the mandatory ai monitoring systems they just mandated for 2027 and beyond cars.

But they already mandate air bags, anti lock brakes, backup cameras, tire pressure monitoring, and maybe a couple other things.

I do agree it makes no sense and is bullshit though.
