Sorry, I don’t have a link to the exact podcast. But I made a similar comment back in 2021 referring to a Shapiro podcast back in 2020:
“Listen to one of Ben’s podcasts (late last year possibly Oct) that he and his Daily Wire co-creator Jeremy Boreing talk about meeting years ago when they both had aspirations to be Hollywood players. That plan fizzled out and this is when the concocted their idea to literally milk Republicans with Ben’s fence sitting bullshit. It’s all a con, he’s a hustler, grifting his way as a political commentator. They struck gold with The Daily Wire. Be wary of the wolf in sheeps clothing.”
In that podcast both Ben and Jeremy reminisce about “finally figuring it out” (paraphrasing) i.e., the grift that would end up making them millions.
I stopped listening to Ben after I heard that podcast.
Yeah, I apologize for the lack of a link. But even when I first posted about it back in 2021 I think Shapiro had already scrubbed the internet of that episode because I couldn’t find it even then. I’ll look again tonight… maybe A.I. can help track it down somewhere.
At the time I heard it on the iHeartRadio app. It was just one of his daily podcasts but this one in particular was about the creation of the Daily Wire as a company.
That makes sense. It is hard to truly scrub anything online, and if it is, that suggests to me that there is a more powerful group at large assisting.
That said, minor players can probably get away with posting things & deleting them (ie not enough eyes on them for anyone to screenshot of backup). Even then the NSA probably has an archive of it somewhere.
