Plenty to scrutinize. I have no problem concluding the dog handler was inept or simply not trained for such a possibility. The minute Allen erupted out of the door, the handler should have released the dog if the dog was trained to attack (probably not, if it was a sniffer), or just let the dog go while he raced after Allen to bring him down in a tackle. (At some point, Allen would have to come to a stop to take any shot.) As it was, he just stood there like an idiot.
I lately finished reading "Warlord," the autobiography of Illario Pantano, the Marine 2nd LT who almost was court-martialed for the supposed murder of some Iraqis. Lots of detail on the training of Marines for tactical positions. FAR more reactive and forward-thinking than these SS agents. No comparison. The whole SS team was "after the fact." Has anything changed since Reagan was shot? John Hinkley was able to push through Reagan's guard and take a shot at closer than point blank range. I can't imagine that happening if Marines had been guarding him.
By the way, it is a very educational video, thoroughly debunking the "storage closet" description of where Allen went. Thanks for posting it.
