I would LOVE if Trump announced that all mail-in ballots in every state will have the U.S. Federal Marshals overseeing and securing those ballots... since they will be using the US Postal Service.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is an independent agency of the executive branch of the U.S. federal government, established by law. It is a government-owned entity that is largely self-funded through the sale of postage and services rather than tax dollars.
The key detail here is that the USPS is legally defined as an "independent establishment of the executive branch". That means Congress can stay out of it.
The executive branch can impose oversight... to secure and monitor ALL mail-in ballots, check for any discrepancies, verify that only official envelopes were used and make sure that the same addresses don't produce multiple mail-ins.
The executive branch can also decide that ONLY U.S. Federal Marshals are allowed to transport official election ballots once they come into the main mail sorting facilities.
The U.S. Postal Service has already proven itself to be completely corrupt in the past several elections. Their corruption should have consequences... like WE DON'T TRUST THEM ANYMORE. They lost the confidence in their ability to handle election ballots.
