I expect this will turn out like the Epstein data dump. Lots of suspicion and anticipation, thousands of files, plenty of remarkable photographs (we've seen them since the 1960s), and zero elucidation. No alien technology. No alien corpses. No alien Henry Kissinger.

Now, of course, if we get any of the latter, that will be spectacular...but I'm not holding my breath.

It will probably occur to people that it will be hard to explain why some photos and videos were formerly classified. The reason will be is that the details surrounding the photography would allow the characteristics of our optical sensors to be deduced by analysis. The military does not like to have the properties or performance of its equipment revealed, because it could be an exploitable vulnerability. There may also be a lot of imagery of what ultimately will be identified as natural phenomena. This was the case when Dr. J.
