The aerodynamic coefficient is much better with the cling wrap than the paper, which tends to eventually flap and detatch mid air.
This results in what we call a "pink bologna dump", which is essentially a voluminous "puddle" that gets dumped on the spectators, causing a WORSE response than no covering at all.
