Keep aliens in the forefront of everyone's minds, use blue beam to explain away the Rapture, have the 'aliens' lead the ultimate deception in the aftermath saying that the disappearances were abducted by the 'aliens' who are your real creators and can make you all gods.
All to lead those that remain away from God and Christ.
Well lets hope it isn't..all that. lol. No, I bet it'll be pretty steady run of the mill madness for a good many folks for some time, yet. Like always.
And after they tell us the aliens are here to save us, New Jerusalem will come and it will look like technology. And they will claim it is the enemy and send the armies of the world against it. And God will smite them all. My suggestion is to stay home and pray.
