Every "battle" is won before the first shot is fired (paraphrasing Sun Tzu). That's because the real competition isn't between the "two sides" of the debate (Red v. Blue), it's between the Control System (or rather, the people who control the Control System) and the minds of the People (We The People). The name of this "competition" is called "Propaganda."

Yes, this ad is good propaganda.

We think this is meaningful because Mr. Pratt is a Red Shirt. We like the Red Shirts. He's pushing all the right buttons and he wears the right color shirt, thus he must be "The Good Guy."

But the truth is, he is an actor. Everyone knows he is a top level actor; that's literally his resume. He comes from a family of senators. Everyone knows the Pratts are deeply tied to the Control Systems. What is not as well known, but can easily be shown, is that his family is directly tied to family Rockefeller (for a couple centuries) and the creation of the USSR (not to mention everything major that has happened from then to now).

Yay. He's a Red. We will win for sure!

This is what Controlled Opposition looks like.

It doesn't really matter what his "policies" are, because his policies are directed by the person(s) that control the System.

That is really all you need to know. The rest is just theatre, being performed by actors. We ignore the fact that we are (internally and unconsciously) highly incentivized to believe that "we are too smart to be duped by Theatre" as long as the actors are wearing the right color shirt, and their Propaganda... err, "ad" is "really good" and pushes all the buttons we want pressed.
