Now is a great time to rewatch my interview with Taiwan’s Vice President
@Bikhim
.
Xi Jinping frames the Taiwan question as some inevitable “reunification.” It’s not. Taiwan is the centerpiece of a modern imperial project enforced through economic blackmail, military intimidation, and decades of Western elites convincing themselves the CCP would liberalize if we just handed Beijing more factories, more capital, more technology, and more leverage over our economy.
That delusion already hollowed out America’s manufacturing base and shipped our industrial power overseas. President Trump should make clear Taiwan is an American red line, and that the same failed bipartisan consensus that sold out American workers will not be allowed to hand the CCP geopolitical dominance in Asia too.

Yes
and decades of Western elites convincing themselves the CCP would liberalize if we just handed Beijing more factories, more capital, more technology, and more leverage over our economy.
No !
Western Elites always knew where CCP was headed and they bet themselves on it. The whole plan was for the West to collapse and the financial stronghold moved to China.
So no, Taiwan didn't become a problem because Western Elites fooled themselves.
Taiwan was a problem because the the Elites wanted to be able to control China, as they pumped more and more of their resources and money into China.
President Trump should make clear Taiwan is an American red line
There is a good reason why Trump has never framed either Taiwan (and Palestine for that matter) as a red line. Its because them being a "red line" is how the Elites have been making these problems unsolvable.
My guess is that, once all the strings are cut, these problems resolve themselves naturally.
Culturally, Taiwan has its own unique culture very different from the mainland. Politically, the Taiwanese people don't want to be part of CCP China. There is no "RE-unification", because the historical truth is that much like Japan, the Phillipines, or any of the other island nations in the East Asia archipelago, Taiwan has always maintained a distinct identity separate from the mainland. The idea of unifying Taiwan with China is willfilly ignorant of history and is the product of modern expansionist CCP "One China" propaganda.
What does Taiwan have to say about...TAIWAN???

The comments are off the charts-in a bad way
I see it as the same as Israel. Not our problem.
