Seattle's new socialist Mayor Katie Wilson made headlines a few weeks ago as she laughed off the idea of millionaires fleeing the city over new and higher taxes.
She has that “wicked witch face” Spannberger has….must be a socialist thing…

On a side note, she'd make a great Geddy Lee at Halloween....
Very bony. Huge shining forehead and high hairline. Unfeminine. Her hair mass is below her ears. (She could do a good imitation of Isaac Newton.) She needs a hair style with bangs. Makes Spanberger look attractive. Margaret Hamilton (the 1939 Wicked Witch of Oz), even under the makeup, had a commanding look of intelligence and a no-nonsense delivery.
I think it is a women's movement thing to have unattractive women in office, just to show primacy over attractive women (e.g., Pramila Jayapal). Strangely, this seems to be true also with the entertainment industry.
How DARE these businesses flee and deprive the socialist experiment with the money-fuel it needs. Next up, barbed-wire fences and road closures and hyper-surveillance to keep those businesses there.
She's also concerned about her voter base.
It's not as much fun burning down vacant businesses....
Dems be waking up to the fucked up ways of their party. These elected mayors don't have a fucking clue. But, for them to even be elected speaks more on the intelligence level of their constituents. So, in real life there are consequences for every decision l, good or bad. And for most people, learning comes the hard way by feeling the pains of such decisions. So, I have no empathy whatsoever for the Seatles and the NYC's of the nation. You got what what you asked for. Now deal with the consequences. And hopefully, they will learn from the pain and vote different in the next cycle. Bottom line....liberals are dumb AF and have absolutely no common sense or ability to rationally reason something out. Always motivated by feelings vs facts and truths. So enjoy the ride! I hope you all learned your lesson

Unlikely they have learned any lesson, since they failed to learn not to go this far. But the interesting development will be the departure of those who have lost their jobs from the corporate exodus, and themselves will be moving away...to anywhere. This will make real estate available (hurray!), but no one will want to purchase unless the prices tank (boo!). And the quality of life will continue to deteriorate. I sort of expect the rate of street crime to increase. The real learning will be demonstrated in the neighboring cities (Bellevue, Renton, etc.) if they establish firm control against this nonsense in their jurisdictions. Notice that some of the corporations are not leaving the state; they are just leaving Seattle for (e.g.) Bellevue. More upscale and more concerned about "the homeless" (as a social blight, not as a poverty ministry).
I am wondering if the Seattle demographic will simply polarize between the rich (who don't care: "What? Me worry?") and the impecunious singles or partners (who live in apartments or rented houses, happy with freebies), with all the middle-class families having moved away. When your demographic boils down to the complacent and the frivolous, I think we are seeing the leading edge.

What will it take before she starts getting Bad Press? She's not a truly confident person. All this is cosplay for her. The "...like, bye!" quip is the tell. Her grip on reality is so absent, it might qualify as psychosis. I suspect if a truly calamitous event were to happen under her watch, she would resign from office rather than rise to the occasion. (Or, God forbid, she would "rise" to the occasion...and make it worse.) The size of the "homeless" population might be a useful barometer of her tenure.
