Makes Spanberger look attractive. Margaret Hamilton (the 1939 Wicked Witch of Oz), even under the makeup, had a commanding look of intelligence and a no-nonsense delivery.
I think it is a women's movement thing to have unattractive women in office, just to show primacy over attractive women (e.g., Pramila Jayapal). Strangely, this seems to be true also with the entertainment industry.
