They do not distinguish between religious, ethnic, or secular / atheist Jews. But pretend they all are "the Chosen People." Whether descended from Abraham's people or not.
Christianity started with Jews who accepted Christ, the Apostles and those they converted. They are the ones of the chosen people who accepted the New Covenant. The New Covenant includes all races and peoples who accept Christ.
Christians trying to protect those Jews who rejected and still reject the New Covenant are denying Christ's Messianic mission, are they not?? SMH!
So much for "sola scriptura"! But why are they leaving out the New Testament, which fulfilled the promises of the Old?
Jews are not the chosen people. The Israelites were, and the Jews are a tiny portion of the Israelites.
God would NOT have "Chosen" people...people would! Jesus died for ALL equally, so to say God chooses one above an other is not Godly...wrong is wrong....tell me how did Jacob aquire the name Israel....wrong is wrong! The Bible does say that God called the Israelites His chosen people. You need to keep Jews and Israelites separate in your mind. They are not the same thing. And most "Jews" today aren't ethnically real. The New Testament mentions the "synagogue of Satan."
I am a Christian. I chose one denomination, as it was the closest to what the Bible says. But I have found no Christian denomination in the world that believes everything the Bible says in plain black and white.
My point about Jacob / Israel naming was done by deception...how can anyone accept that? There are places in the Bible I have to draw the line, I don't make anything a god, not a book or a religion...Jesus called Himself TRUTH, WAY and LIFE, so TRUTH is my GOD and my Religion. The preachers make Jesus a magician and a necromancer...he is neither...I learned more TRUTH in an AA meeting than I ever did in a church...I gave up church and religion years ago, I live TRUTH now...I look inward now, not so much outward at others...I have lots of "logs" in my eyes that need taking care of first...lol
