I wish they would address the rape of Georgia by the data centers. We do not have the extra capacity for these hogs or extra water for them! They are taking over Georgia. People are up in arms, but the bureaucrats keep marching.
They are taking over the country :( seems like a good excuse for them to stuff everyone in cities and ration supplies if data centers use up water and clean air. Also killing animals like birds
West Texas is blowing up with them. The one place with probably the least water.

Are these REAL data centers? One begs to as k the question of WHY so many? Makes me wonder if they are for something else! Something that if was in the open major industries would do everything in there power to stop them. Kinda like Westinghouse did to Tesla. Jus thinking out loud!
Read more, fantasize less. This is an instance of brute force engineering, where they are constructing giant neural networks in which each neuron is the equivalent of its own computer center. Astronomical number of neural interconnections. The thermodynamics of information processing means they need a lot of power to drive the process. They don't need water, per se; they need cooling. They can get cooling from industrial level refrigeration, but that takes more power, so water is the cheap and easy way to do it. And, as this is a footrace, there is a crash program urgency about it. It's a big bet that this isn't a huge waste of time, money, and resources.
