That is deplorable. One of my grandchildren is Autistic, and her father had to jump through hoops to get her a minimal amount of SSDI. It took nearly a full year with road blocks at every step. I can't wait to see every freaking crook who has ripped us off either in prison, or a one way flight out of our country.
Yes, we had the same issue the first time. After being denied 4 times, we had to stand before a judge and have him say our son has autism. Then their mother left and she had the SSI in her name, it took too long to switch over to my name, so I had to reapply. I was denied and being a single father of two, just trying to start new, I did not have the time to go through the process of being denied 3 more times and standing before a judge again.
And yet my son, who actually has autism, is denied SSI

I'm sorry you went through that. They throw money at people who don't need or deserve it, and deny legitimate claims.
