I would absolutely go to jail for 6 months for 500k, as would most people
This is ludicrous. Its anarcho-tyranny, you know DAMN good and well that if a white, generally law abiding citizen did this then itd be a much longer sentence
I would encourage folks to consider the possibility that this was a negotiated light sentence.
SOP for taking on what is clearly a criminal organization (not just a collection of individual thieves) would be to start at the bottom of the organization and engage in the usual:
Arrest-->Prosecute-->Interrogate for information on the layer above them with a lighter sentence being the reward for squealing on their superior in the pyramid.
The FBI and DOJ were investigating MN fraud long before Nick Shirley released his video and there have been dozens of prosecutions and convictions.
Now, this very well may be exactly what it looks like: A sympathetic judge refusing to do justice. But I'm always a little hesitant to go into outrage mode when I see some of these light sentences because if I were the DOJ, that's what I'd be doing as well for the little piggies that squeal.
I dont think its that. The judge said of the light sentence "I dont think ill see her back in court for another crime" which clearly implies she gave the light sentence due to her liberal "empathy"
Total asset seizure, jail for life, but deportation to a hell hole in Somalia that they pay for otherwise they get nuked.
Oh, and denaturalisation for it and all relatives, who are also deported.
This guy gets it
Chain deportation!
Yep. Whole family goes.
You forgot forcing them to watch The View reruns. The relatives too.
From chain migration to deportation in chains.
You got the program all plan out already. Amen.
No wonder so many are committing fraud with a trade off like that. 500k for 6mo in jail.
Is she being deported?
Probably not

That's right. Even if you toss her back to Somalia, she will live like Queen Sheba.
Under sharia law who steals gets their hands cut off.
Stealing from the infidels is okay!
Theft is so common, they need to have strict laws to keep it under control.
Can we do that? No. I won't.

She should be given the choice: hung or deported
I would commit fraud for that little bit of punishment. No I won't. LOL
Another planted liberal judge. Disbarment STAT
Yes there really needs to be a mechanism for removing or even prosecuting corrupt judges
Maybe, or it could be in exchange for info.

Could be. You might be right.

Very well could be. I definitely can't say for certain.
