Why is this a Sacrifice? She should have never been charge/arrested/prisoned to begin with. In the USA. I don't care about some other country.
In the USA she did not sacrifice. A sacrifice is a choice. She did not chose to be put in prison. Those who put her in prison was to influence others to keep their mouths shut or else and guess what? That worked.
For her to be a Sacrifice and her not being able to chose to be the sacrifice would lead to who Sacrificed her?
She is a Martyr.
The only time this stuff will change is when people stop assuming they know things like she did an amazing Sacrifice.
Jesus was a Sacrifice. Jesus chose to be a human to take on the debt for us. That would be a Sacrifice. Tina was doing her job and informing the public of what was going on and the public laughed at her and the rulers are still rulers.
I agree with your point. But the dictionary description of martyr is : a person who voluntarily suffers death as the penalty for declaring belief in and refusing to renounce a religion. Tina is a Christian woman in her seventies who served over 600 days in prison. That's a pretty big sacrifice from my perspective also being in my seventies.
definitions matter. definitely but so does discernment and critical thinking. What you just did is claim Martyr is defined as only one thing. Yet it is not. Essentiall you are either by purpose trying to paint a narrative or you are just ignorant? To me it doesn't matter. The fact is she did NOT volunteer to be in prison for 600 days and one could call her a Political Martyr.
some people like the woke and democratic progressives will claim they are number 4 definition below.
1-a person who willingly suffers death rather than renounce their religion.
2-a person who is put to death or endures great suffering on behalf of any belief, principle, or cause.
Her death has made her a martyr to the cause of social justice.
3-a person who undergoes severe or constant suffering.
The patient was a martyr to severe headaches.
4-a person who seeks sympathy or attention by feigning or exaggerating pain, deprivation, etc.
Spelling matters too. " Essentiall you are either by purpose trying to paint a narrative or you are just ignorant?" I thought I agreed with your point or did you miss that trying to be friendly?

on purpose. it is like when one goes fishing at the lake.. you are an easy catch. haha. You only exposed yourself at being what you truly are.
you can be friendly. that is fine. the fact is she is in no way one that did any sacrifice on her own will. she was a real victim and a martyr.
the one thing she did is sign some sort of disclosure to be release and I think that too is BS.
