I told her, as far as I know, Ebola was transferred via body fluids, so unless she was bitten, puked on or pooped on by an affected person she had nothing to worry about. Betting they are getting ready for a new vaccine push…..

Or just prudence.
For instance, my large animal vet had to go to Germany for a seminar years ago and biosecurity is a real & big deal both there and here - Have you been in any pastures? Around horses, cattle or chickens? Etc etc.
Because diseases can and do spread via shoes etc from one place to another. It's always good practice to be on the prudent and cautious side of things.
SO, what better way to import deadly pathogens into the US, than a huge number of foreigners arriving for a sport that's more popular in Europe than here. Makes sense.
Make sure you do the chopstick lice inspection at the beginning of every school year...because of dirty foreigners & no other reason...
I have no idea what a chopstick lice inspection is, and probably don't want to know. "dirty foreigners"? Nope, just people coming from many other places, bringing God knows what, into the US. Facilitated, of course by some of our own government. Edit to add: And just for good measure make sure to cram thousands of people into one place.
