Wow, they couldn't be more transparent. Looks like they were okay with warrantless FISAs if Tulsi was the DNI, but not if Pulte is.
DNI plays a key role in the implementation of FISA.
So pieces of puzzle falls in place. Dems were confident about Tulsi (at least when it comes to FISA), and so they were okay with her being there even. Tulsi definitely did a lot of good things no doubt, and I guess the Dems wrote it off as "to win something you gotta lose something".
I guess, with the power of FISA they counted on being able to undo whatever problems she created for them.
Now, Tulsi's work is done and enter Pulte, and boom, they start reeeeing, and let the cat out of the bag.
