Great quote but Spooner was, what we would call now days "Liberal as fuck". If he was alive today he would be an Antifa leader. He very much supported immigration and was a he hated The Constitution.
That’s subjective to interpretation, but I will admit there is some merit to your point. I primarily remember him as an abolitionist who saw the government exerting too much power in its day. I think today he would be calling for the abolishment of income taxes and the Fed and would be screaming the loudest against government financial fraud as well as election fraud. I don’t think he would be MAGA, and might even have TDS. But I don’t see him supporting big government programs based on all the quotes I read today. However, I did find this quote applicable to the uniparty.
