That’s subjective to interpretation, but I will admit there is some merit to your point. I primarily remember him as an abolitionist who saw the government exerting too much power in its day. I think today he would be calling for the abolishment of income taxes and the Fed and would be screaming the loudest against government financial fraud as well as election fraud. I don’t think he would be MAGA, and might even have TDS. But I don’t see him supporting big government programs based on all the quotes I read today. However, I did find this quote applicable to the uniparty.

I think deep down we all want, pretty much, the same things but the few differences keep us divided. "The want you divided!" - and the sad truth is that we actually like being divided.
