I am a practicing RC. I love my small little Catholic church here in the Coastal Plains of NC nestled in the bible belt. I understand that RELIGION is man made and therefore it will forever be blemished by the men (and/or women) who run them bc they are sinners.
I believe in the Holy Trinity that Christ is in the actual host and wine at Communion and I believe with all my heart that Christ is my saviour and I cannot get into Heaven without being His.
I don't let the pope of the Catholic Church run my life. I don't follow him. But I do remember when they changed the Mass after the Second Vatican from Latin to the native tongue of locals. in some ways this was better than listening to Mass in Latin but in other ways I understand how Latin was the Universal church language and you could go to any country and experience it as at home.
I choose to remain a Catholic as I was raised one. I walked away from my prior very liberal Catholic Church in NY state. I had considered becoming a Baptist. I do bible studies with other women of other denominations. I decided to try out my local Catholic Church here in NC before I checked out other churches. I loved it and still do.
As a Catholic I don't think too much about the pope... But really didn't like the last one at all. And I am lukewarm about our current pope.
