The IRGC last night fired drones at commercial shipping in the Strait. They were taken down most likely by A-10s and some new anti-drone tech the US is battlefield testing. Iran is pushing that they will control the Strait along with Oman which is what is in that MOU. So much for free flow of maritime transit. They will get to make the rules of who does and doesn't go through the Strait. How does this make the region any safer? Huge concession giving them the ability to blackmail and extort commercial shipping not to mention this same tactic being used with other chokepoints. Bad precedent. The CCP uses the same leverage with ports they control, only allowing access to those not on their naughty list.

Those attacks were several months ago. The Iranian Republic's True Promise 4 was launched Feb. 28.
