Reading a few alarming headlines, I went to Grok to ask if there actually is an agreement between the United States and Iran, and if so, who is it with. A few paragraphs of explanation brought a final statement that the situation remains fluid.
So here's my thought...Trump is eliminating the global nuclear threat, gathering the final damning evidence against Barry and Hillary, shifting the world's power structure, and a whole crap ton more...all in time for the birthday party. This deal is a temporary measure to be able to say we actually and truly have world peace by then, and it's still performative.
And even though "our" position is that we'll not interfere with their internal issues, I just don't see that leaving the clerics and the IRGC in control and able to generate more money for their heinous activities makes any sense whatsoever. I still hold that those people won't honor any deal because they aren't honorable, and that they'll try to pull some kind of thing that will make a complete crushing of them a necessity in the public eye.
I want this to be over, but not with the Persian people living under Islamic rule.
Would be interesting to know how Venezuela has changed for its citizens since Operation Absolute Resolve. Haven't heard even a peep about that.
Brought it up because of the similarity: threat removed, existing (corrupt) government structures left intact.
Grok: The Trump administration has since engaged pragmatically with elements of the existing regime apparatus (minus Maduro), emphasizing stability, oil sector cooperation, and U.S. interests, while issuing warnings about cooperation. There has been no broad democratic transition, inclusion of the main opposition (e.g., figures like María Corina Machado or Edmundo González), or rapid move to free/fair elections. Political prisoners remain an issue, and repression elements persist in parts of the system.
I believe the opposition figures were controlled anyway, although it's hard to know. Hopefully this will be rectified after US corruption is busted.
It wouldn't be new for the US to manage oppressive foreign countries, but Q talks about freedom worldwide, so I assume it's coming, i.e., NCSWIC, as part of the plan. Iran's situation may be similar in that regard, despite some obvious differences.
