Yeah, the world waking up and realising how awful their lives are in their hellscape "countries" is probably the best gift Trump has ever given the world
Life here is paradise, or at least the closest thing to it in this world
Hopefully we can make it a bit worse for them by closing the Straight for a bit longer :-D
I agree. Americans could really care less about soccer. But hosting the World Cup has been the best international PR move. Many international tourists when they come to the US usually visit the East or West Coast. Often those places that show the worst side of America - the same stuff they see promoted on their own media. Now they are seeing the real America and they are stunned - having to reconcile the image of America painted for them versus the reality of who we are. You cannot buy positive publicity like this that shoots holes in the carefully crafted America bad narratives. Their living experiences here in the US blow those narratives apart. As a bonus, they also can see the difference a 2nd Amendment makes.
Their experiences are not much different from those of the Axis prisoners from WW2. Total shock at the reality of America that flew in the face of the propaganda image that they were fed by their own governments. When they were finally sent back to their own countries they spread these stories of what they saw to their countrymen. They understood that they were fed absolute lies by their leaders. Instead of the horrors they expected as prisoners to be treated with hate and retribution, they were treated with true kindness and compassion that comes from confidence and strength.
Given the greatness of America and it's people, they understood that they never stood a chance from the beginning. They returned to countries ravaged by the war and asked why did their leaders bring that destruction upon them by attacking the Americans. The war was lost before it ever started. The change in Japan was probably the most profound after the war and it radically changed their trajectory. All from seeing for themselves who we really are and how they were treated by us as prisoners.

Really well said
Thank you for the acknowledgement.
Wealth AND quality of life. I would gladly trade some ungrateful TDS freaks for these guys and gals.
Thanks fren!
In the 1950’s and working half days to catch up. And summers off for good measure. Of course, Americans like the old timey quaintness of Europe.
