In Seattle, there used to be two newspapers: The Post-Intelligencer and The Seattle Times. The Post-Intelligencer was the "liberal" paper, which eventually lost readership and closed shop. A pity, because its headquarters building had a huge rotating globe of the Earth, just like the Daily Planet in the Superman comic books. This left the Seattle Times, which eventually became squishy and finally lefty.
A regional conservative talk host, Lars Larson, refers to it as The Seattle Dead Fish-Wrapper.
