The movie is about a foreigner (an American) who owns thousands of properties in Europe. He acts entitled because of it. He doesn't like that there are older people in their 50s and 60s working for his company so he tells a manager to get rid of them and bring in new blood. He is in his 40s but he's not married and he doesn't have children. He has sex with prostitutes. And he kills European citizens.
He killed law enforcement officers for doing their jobs. He killed innocent people in a car (men? women? children?)simply because they didn't change lanes.
There were some cool moments and some good points made but it was really badly done.
Not to mention the gaping holes in the plot. He asks a woman in the hospital if she wants justice and she says "Yes" and that's the end of it. The movie never shows the vigilante going after her assailant. Then there are three teenagers in a park assaulting an innocent guy. Two guys and a girl. The vigilante breaks the two guy's bones but the girl magically disappears.
I understand the point it was trying to make and I agree with that point, but it was so terribly executed.
Good to know,thanks for posting.
I was skeptical as soon as I heard that the movie starred Armie Hammer - a true Hollyweirdo. I agree with OP assessments. However, I also felt a pressure valve being released, when I watched it. I will admit a sense of satisfying justice during some of the scenes. No shame. The main character does indeed deliver "justice" for those he asked if they wanted to receive it. That was the whole point to the movie. Idk what the OP missed there. But it's cool. It was absolutely dusturbing to watch the innocent people in the other car (probably) harmed by the main characters game of "chicken". It highlighted how unhinged this person is. It wasn't all about justice for him. He was a messed up person aware that he was a broken/bad person and purposing his dysfunctions toward a good cause (in his mind). Typical vigilante movie plot, similar to Batman in that way and also that the vigilante is wealthy. But, yes; I did wonder at times if the purpose was to radicalize and demonize all sides of the subject. That said, I absolutely think it was wrong to censor the movie.
Not to get too deep or anything😀😀😀…..but “justice" for those he asked if they wanted to receive it.”
Kinda’ sounds like his BDSM history.😀😀😀😩😩😩
Casting was spot on!!! ( didn’t watch tho).
I just watched it, and its pretty good. It has a few faults but overall pretty good.
