We have to pay for a licence to watch any live TV at all. Suppose I'm learning Italian and I put up a satellite dish to watch Italian TV then I have to buy a British licence. All the money goes to the BBC. So many people now saying screw that and just don't watch TV anymore. Or if they do then it's Netflix, torrents, etc. which don't need a licence.
So that's partially how they are losing money. Another factor is, incredibly, that the BBC used to get money from USAID which is now gone.
The BBC is cutting up to 2,000 jobs (roughly 10% of its workforce) in 2026.
Reasons include:
Dropping commercial / advertising revenue.
Audiences are shifting away from scheduled broadcast content toward digital platforms and global streaming services, eroding the BBC's traditional reach and advertising potential.
Inflation has increased operational costs.
Intense competition from multinational tech and media companies.
I thought they force everyone to pay,how do you lose money doing that?
It would take some retard level of incompetence......
Never mind. Kek
Lol🐸👌

Fake news in UK is going down also.
In the news division.... Never mind eh, AI can easily lie just as well as any news department.
Maybe their USAID funds finally ran out.
