Ten years after
Brexit went hand-in-hand with the promise of national freedom, economic dynamism, the shredding of bureaucratic regulations and a massive NHS spending boost. Few would argue nowadays that anything like that has been delivered, writes Paul Demarty
It is always interesting to read differing views. On the one hand we have Promethean Action telling us just how much the UK controls the US and then we see articles like this one that tell us that the US was really running the UK all the time!
These people need to talk to each other.
I would disagree with you reply to some extent, however, Promethean Action is NOT working from inside the "cauldron" but looking at EVENTS that show up. Which I think is a good idea due to the amount "flak" going on with the topics they talk about!!!!!
NOTE: I think, just myself, that they WANT people to think/research/draw conclusions themselves rather than relying on information that is just thrown out there in the ether!!!!!!! This is what makes boards like this so important and the ideas that come out of it. Don't forget, "there are others also reading these boards."!!!!! Just sayin'!!!!!!
I agree about the research part. The Q Drops inspired me to look a bit deeper into any subject I found interesting. The problem now is, I can no longer take any news at face value!
AND you have described 80% of the people on this board who actually have knowledge, does research, and enhances this board immensely. That is what makes this board so VERY important!!!!!!!
It does look like a contradiction but I feel able to imagine how a cabal in the City of London can control large parts of the world, including the US, and that the controlled US can subsequently use the UK as a lever to influence the EU.
NOTE that the "City of London" is not the same thing as London - the City is like Washington DC or the Vatican in that it is an independent territory. It is geographically inside the UK but that is all.
I have no love for the decadent government of the EU but I felt and still feel that UK leaving the EU was a mistake. If you are American then it would be the same as wanting your state to secede from the USA "to take back our freedoms from our Federal overlords". Not saying the average American has much affection for their government but my guess is that leaving the USA would not be the solution.
No, I am a Brit but I see things slightly differently. My understanding is that the states in the US do have control over their own destiny but they can devolve some powers to the Federal government if they want to.
In the case of the EU, the project was sold as a trading convenience but it was then used to wrest control from the member states and give it to the central EU government.
To aid that process, very little of the central government is elected by the people, in contrast with Congress and POTUS and, the only part of that system that is democratically elected - the EU parliament - does not have the power associated with other "parliaments". That is, they cannot propose legislation. That is confined to one of the unelected bodies, namely, the EU Commission.
Although the EU looks like the US superficially, going into more detail reveals that it is far less democratic. It is more like a way to rule the entire continent by teams of unelected people chosen by, who knows?
The pic is the Lissabon treaty .... Look how extensive it is ......
And they though it so damn important, they even used wax seals. But who's?
But who's?''
...betting there are lions and unicorns on it...
