The sunset sky had brilliant red colors on the fourth in my area, and my cousins reported similar colors in Minnesota and Santa Barbara. - any great photos taken by the Reflecting Pool? great you experienced the 4th in D.C. in person!
We were not at the reflecting pool. We were in a completely different area like on a hill and at the bottom of the hill was the stage where President Trump spoke. We waited in line from 2 in the afternoon. It was so worth it. Amazing experience I’ll never forget it.
So wonderful that you got to participate in this truly unique and magnificent celebration of our country! What stands out to you as you remember being there? And what was the feeling in the crowd?
The crowd was all MAGA from everywhere. Some people we spoke to were local and others were from Mexico, Tennessee, and other states. They were awake and knew what we know.
The fireworks were absolutely amazing. The National Guard did a fabulous job with crowd control.
We had waited in line for hours, and we finally got to the bag check area. We were about eight people in front of us before we could get in and they close the entire thing and everybody had to leave, even the people in the secure zone. So we went to a holding area and then came back. The crowd was fierce and they were not abandoning Trump. They were going to wait it out until it was officially canceled. We all knew Trump would not cancel and reschedule.
Right before President Trump spoke. It was still raining so I was sitting on my blanket and I didn’t bring a raincoat and it was just raining on me and I remember just being so happy to be there.
President Trump’s speech was amazing and he did talk about this being his third term.
That storm took out my electric. I spent lots of time trying to find status. The "interactive" map did not work (AI does not work). In the meantime, my phone was at 30%. Thunder and lightening was still strong and I was gathering supplies to spend the speech in the car, charging my phone and AC. I was literally at the door when the lights went on. 5 minutes before the speech. my tiny miracle (grin)
