This could otherwise be promising, but Zelensky has been scooting around, making arrangements for prolonged trouble at least into 2028, so I have no expectation that he will depart from his squirrelly inconstancy of agreement. Any agreement would be utterly contrary to the intentions of Europe.
And I have a really hard time thinking that Putin would go this far and not complete the taking-out of the trash.
I would have more confidence in Russia taking all Novorossia in charge, besieging Kiev for real, arresting the entire Nazi government, putting rump Ukraine under occupation, and bringing Ukrainian war crimes to a world tribunal. Then withdraw carefully, leaving Russia in charge of Ukraine's foreign policy as a protectorate. I certainly can't say that this idea is any less hopeful than Trump's approach.
