Me too. However, this is the reason that the trucks keep getting bigger. NHTSA CAFE standards favor larger trucks. Although the KEI trucks get great gas mileage, for their “footprint” they would have to get even better than what they currently do. It’s stupid.
Now, if only they could built a reliable car that the average person could afford without a 6 or 7 year loan. And, fix it yourself. That would be awesome!
It'll be a cold day in hell when I consider a new GM vehicle. Got burned in the 2000s with their trucks. Far as I can tell, they've just gone downhill ever since.
The sad thing is that nobody else is all that much better. Even Toyota and Honda are starting to suck more often than not.
Let's go back to:
Reliable transmissions
Naturally aspirated 6 & 8 cyl engines No 4cyl turbo junk
Engine compartments & assemblies made for friendly servicing by yourself
Engine & Transmission dipsticks
No DEF
No customer data harvesting/transmitting
PRIVACY
6 foot beds available on midsize trucks
Tall wish list... Most will never happen
Hope the government allows kei trucks.

How would we ever survive without huge, giant government. (obvious sarcasm)
And just like that....cars and trucks are suddenly made better, and with fewer recalls.
Who is actually making the cars though.
Good point. I was assuming Americans, but that was perhaps a poor assumption on my part. Mea Culpa!

Hope the government lets keep trucks in.
$275 Million is not news of anything at all.
