I cannot tell you, where I lurk on the left, how disgusted some dems are since they found out that Platner was NOT an authentic, grass roots, middle class "oyster farmer" but a creation of leftist special interests who recruited him, knowing many of his flaws, and funded him. He was a created candidate made out of whole cloth, and some on the left now realize it.

OH they were going to vote for him to win a Senate seat from the milk-toast moderate Susan Collins! Despite knowing many of his flaws. But now they are disgusted. I hope the Independents are disgusted! Because these dems, now turning on THEIR candidate who WON the primary! Will vote for which ever D candidate their Party foists on them at the last minute.

Biden / Harris anyone? It is the D machine who selects their candidates, NOT their OWN primary votes! It was the D establishment machine that brought down Platner, in defiance of the socialist part of the party. Well, why did they not do so before the primaries, so the Maine voters could have a real informed choice??
