A dear friend collapsed and died from a massive heart-attack while on his landscaping job just last week. Our small community is mourning his death. He leaves behind a special needs son.
He took the shot to keep his EMT position on the volunteer fire department. He was low-income and desperate for income, even the low, low pay volunteers get. But he also had a calling for helping others and being on the fire department gave him that fulfillment.
Now we, the community, are finding ways to take care of his son.
