Advertising and buying endorsements is an expensive industry, I'm not sure how you would get around that. the way I see it any attempt to enforce limits would just lead to even more corruption.

As someone else said you have to cut out lobbying and bribes.

Too easy to weaponize and it wouldn't actually stop the flow of money.

My point is pretty clear.

Limiting funding just leads to more corruption and makes is so anyone unapproved even attempting to run gets charged for corruption despite everyone else doing it.

Why would you want to make being a politician such a worthless job? It takes spending hundreds of millions of dollars to even get the position in the first place.

If you wanted to actually deal with corruption you'd need to pay politicians more than the net profits of any one industry.

I'm fine cutting down their pay once the pay of the private sector is accordingly lowered and buissinesses are made less profitable. Wouldn't you be corrupt if you had hundreds of millions of dollars being offered to you while your actual salary is lower than what the average woman demands before she'll allow you to reproduce with her?

And? How does that make them more deserving of that money?

Politicians should be paid far more, not sure why everyone is getting bent out of shape over a paycheck that's less then a quarter million per year, higher pay means means more expensive bribes. You people never seem to care when it's higher ups in the private sector being overpaid.
