On the night of May 16, Russian units hit an American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system during an attack on military facilities in Kyiv. Turkish sources put forward two versions of what happened.
Prior to its destruction, the Patriot fired the entire 32 guided missiles, which cost $5.275 million per unit. The cost of the battery itself is from 500 million to 1.5 billion dollars, depending on the complexity of the equipment.
According to the first version of what happened, after the discovery of the air defense system, he was attacked by a hypersonic missile “Dagger”. At the same time, the calculation of the complex, due to panic, released the entire ammunition load, reacting to a rocket launched from the north side. The target was not hit and destroyed the Patriot.
According to the second version, the air defense system was detected by means of electronic warfare. Next, the Patriot launched missiles at decoys, after which it was destroyed by the “Dagger”. At the same time, the MIM-104 missiles fired by the anti-aircraft missile system did not hit targets and exploded in the air, some of them hit random settlements.
According to the Rybar telegram channel, there were three launchers in total in the positional area. One of them was liquidated, the second was seriously damaged. The third avoided damage in principle.
Two installations stood side by side, and the third – behind the building. The Russian “Dagger” flew between the installations, but closer to the first: there was a detonation of the fuel. Pieces of the first installation and pieces of soil / asphalt riddled the second – said the source of the channel.
Meanwhile, the production and maintenance of Patriot air defense systems is very expensive for the United States, and their losses are noticeable for the stock of American air defense forces. Thus, the Houthis have destroyed a significant number of missiles for these complexes in the past seven years, and Washington was forced to replenish Riyadh with their stocks.

The IAEA says depleted uranium is a cover story and that radiation levels are 10 to 20 times higher than announced and that areas of Poland can expect soaring cancer rates (TID: This is closer to the truth) In the Ukrainian city of Khmelnytsky, where a Ukrainian army ammunition depot was destroyed by a missile attack, which, among other things, was stored tank shells supplied by the UK with depleted uranium cores, there are cases of patients being transported by doctors dressed in special protective suits.
It is also reported about the increase in the level of background radiation in the city. In addition, in the eastern regions of Poland, neighboring Ukraine, in the direction of which the wind blew after the explosion, an increased content of bismuth, which is one of the decay products of depleted uranium, was recorded.
Despite the fact that Ukrainian monitoring resources record a surge in the background radiation in Khmelnytsky and its environs, the Kiev regime denies that radioactive munitions were stored in the destroyed military depot. Meanwhile, pharmacies in the region have run out of iodine, bought up by local residents in an attempt to neutralize the consequences of radiation contamination.
It is worth noting that British tank shells with depleted uranium cores were intended for use by the Ukrainian army in battles on the territories of new Russian regions, which would inevitably lead to radioactive contamination of the area.
Similar ammunition was used by NATO troops during the war in Yugoslavia, which subsequently led to a surge in cancer among the population living in the regions where hostilities were fought.
