Just thinking out loud here...

I am a Vaccine Ambassador because... "children hold incredible potential. And I believe we as adults should foster this potential by protecting them from something preventable, which they cannot hide from."

He died only 9 months after his cancer diagnosis.

TURBO CANCER strikes again.

Baffling.

I'm not necessarily talking about GAW as much as I am the GA broadly speaking.

How do we know which topics are out of the bounds of the GA?

Who decides?

What standard is used to make the adjudication on topics that are "out of bounds?"

The discussion in the comments in this recent GAW thread inspired these questions of mine:

(Remember: This event occurred six months after Trump left Saudi Arabia)

The 2017–2019 Saudi Arabian purge was a mass arrest of a number of prominent Saudi Arabian princes, government ministers, and business people on 4 November 2017 and the following few weeks after the creation of an anti-corruption committee led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

The detainees were confined at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Riyadh, which had hosted the announcement for the planned city of Neom on 24 October 2017. The arrests were seen as a way for the crown prince to consolidate his power and sideline potential rivals.

The Saudi authorities claimed that they recovered about $107 billion from the settlements with the detainees, who were accused of corruption. However, some of the former detainees have revealed details of what they say took place in the hotel, such as torture, coercion, and confiscation of assets without due process.

The interrogators were reportedly looking for information on the detainees' assets, businesses, and connections. They demanded that the detainees sign over their wealth to the state in exchange for their release. Some of the detainees agreed to do so, while others resisted or negotiated. Some were released after a few weeks, while others remained in custody for months.

The Saudi authorities claimed that the purge was a necessary measure to combat corruption and recover public funds, but many critics and observers saw it as a power grab by the crown prince and a violation of human rights.

There are a few major media corporations that own many of the news channels in the United States. According to a 2021 report by the media watchdog group Free Press, the following six corporations own most of the major media outlets in the country:

  1. Comcast (owns NBCUniversal, which includes NBC News, MSNBC, and CNBC)

  2. AT&T (owns WarnerMedia, which includes CNN, HBO, and the Turner Broadcasting System)

  3. ViacomCBS (owns CBS News, Showtime, and various other cable networks)

  4. News Corp (owns Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and other media properties)

  5. Walt Disney (owns ABC News, ESPN, and other media properties)

  6. Sinclair Broadcast Group (owns or operates more than 200 local TV stations in the US)

It's worth noting that there are still some independent news outlets and smaller media companies that are not owned by these larger corporations.

However, these six companies do control a significant portion of the news media landscape in the US.

You only have the perception of choice.

Any of my other south regional pedes get the same test? Why do a test at that specific time? Scared the frog pee outta me that early...both my wife's phone on her side of the bed and my phone on my side going off in stereo at 4:45am. Nuts...

EDIT

In my pre-search of the forum to avoid duplicate posts, I didn't see the other well established post about this EBS test in Florida because the title of that post used EAS instead of EBS. Apologies for the duplicate.
