Everyone else whos only authority is scripture is closer to the early church Christian than any roman catholic. You hold up tradition above all else even if it was something started as early as 200 years ago. Also there was no central church for over 300 years until the roman government created it after legalizing Christianity in Rome. That's why the Vatican is there. It's not hard to understand. When Christ says "this rock" he's referring to himself. If he was referring to Peter he would have said, upon you, or upon Peter, or upon thee. He says "this rock". It's cut and dry.

You're contradicting yourself. If what Christ said mattered to you, you would take his word for it that he is the rock the church is founded on like he said. There's no other way to interpret that unless you're Satan. Instead you prefer the opinion of a sinner you do not know. Peak Catholicism.

Christ is the rock, he is referring to himself. Christ says Petros, upon this petra I will build my church. I don't know how Catholics are so easily manipulated by intentional misinterpretation. Christ renamed Simon to Peter which in Greek is a small rock or stone. Christ built his church as he says on a petra, which is a boulder, cliffside. God is referred to as a rock constantly throughout scripture. He's still the rock Christ is referring to when hes talking to Peter, Peter did not become the rock. It's obvious this is what Christ means until you have Satan telling you what to think.

We are able to interpret scripture. God isn't gate keeping interpretation, the satanic roman church does that. The roman pagan church says you can't interpret scripture, actually it's dangerous, only they can interpret it for you. Pope Francis himself said a personal relationship with Christ is dangerous without the church (of Satan) and it's easy to see why.
