Americans dont have a paycheck problem or a gas price problem... America has a wasteful lifestyle problem.
Every month, after all my bills are paid (before fuel. food. clothing) I have about $4,000 left over to spend or invest... mostly because even though I could certainly afford to, I dont drive an $80k car or a $70K truck, or live in a $500+K house
9 year old car is paid for and well maintained.
39 yr old truck is paid for and well maintained (and EMP proof).
Therefore liability ins only... that's appx $200-250/mo saved right there.
Small house = Small payment, small maintenance, and small utilities.
No cable (internet only), No netflix or similar (EVERY movie & EVERY tv show is available on the internet for free)
$149. 4 year old Samsung smart phone w no contract ($45/mo bill), It will do everything any $1500 - $139/mo iphone will do.
I catch or shoot my protein. I fish and hunt constantly (Food, Exercise & Entertainment, & damn near free) All of that is smoked and/or dried so if the elec goes out... no worries.
I garden and preserve/can about 1/2 of my vegetables. My main food expenses at the grocery are grains and fruits.
Ive bought over 30K in constitutional (pre1964) silver coins in the last 10 months.
Ive bough a LOT of ammo and a few additional firearms since Nov 3rd 2020.
My 31 acres of timber is paid off My 12 acres w stream frontage is paid off (will build eventually... likely from my own timber)
Im ready for the great reset, or the great awakening, which ever comes.
Or------- I could live paycheck to paycheck in a big house with brand new cars, gym membership and big phone bill.
