Those little pieces may be a pain, yes but they have been proven robust beyond a shadow of a doubt. You can pick apart any AR to repair yours. Parts should all be swappable.
Try that with an AK. It may work sometimes but you will find many issues, and some which may not be immediately evident but create long-term reliability issues.
Of course I am speaking hyperbolically.
My main gripe with the AR is its plastic stock. The AK is plain handsome. Put a Boyd's stock and a silent buffer spring on my AR and it solved all my problems.

THIS is why it is important to be grounded in God. To know God is to know your true nature, to know Love for everything. Now there is no fear. Without fear there is no anger.
