Currently, the Ukraine / Russia war is nothing but a standoff. Russia holding their position, refusing to give Donbass back to Ukraine. These future contracts are used to determine the spot price of silver and gold. The CME has on multiple occasions raised margins on contracts, pushing out small investors and crushing the silver market.
Two months ago, in December, the margins on a silver contract was $20,000. On Monday (2/26/2026) margins will be increased to 19.8%, $70,000. This move reduces the volume of contracts being purchased and gives a false impression that the demand for silver is diminishing. Thus, the price of silver will take another massive blow. Their coordinated efforts to weed out small investors and reduce the price of silver has already eliminated $9 Trillion in value from the silver market and the American people's investments.
I know you signed an EO allowing people to use their 401k's to invest in commodities like gold and silver. If I am not wrong, I think the EO went live Feb 4th. The CME's manipulation of the silver market may have been an underhanded way to disincentivize your EO and interested investors. They seem to be undermining your efforts that allow the American people to invest in commodities.
The actions taken by the CME will result in massive monetary losses by anyone reinvesting a portion of their retirement saving into precious metals. Gold is too expensive for people to invest; the American people have chosen silver as a means to invest in precious metals. Intentional price manipulation of this asset should be illegal.
Silver has recently been listed as a critical mineral. Why do we allow organization like the CME to manipulate the value of such a valuable mineral. The consequences will jeopardize national security. Miners could not make a profit at $30 / ounce. Since silver prices have increased, mining companies have ramped up efforts to begin production. Cratering silver prices will make mining companies less eager to ramp up production and reduce supply of this valuable asset.

I created a brokerage link account with Fidelity, I rolled over a portion of my 401k into this brokerage account. There is no penalty, you are not withdrawing the money. This brokerage account acts as a self-directed IRA.
Go to the search bar in your Fidelity account, type in Brokerage link account, an option pops up to create one.
This will give you 2 more accounts: Brokerage account and a Brokerage ROTH account. The ROTH account is for investing after tax money, but I am already doing that in my individual account, so I don't use it.
I purchased 100 shares of Hycroft Mining (HYMC) in Oct for $7.40 each. Cost me $740, today the stock is worth $54.85. Total value is now $5485.
These stock prices range in price from 10 cents through $200. Pick your level of commitment. Many of them are increasing in value 15 - 50% per day.
Vanguard Mining (UUUFF) is currently 0.31 cents per share. It has increased in value by 52% in las two days. I bought it at 0.11 cents. I bought 4000 for $440 and it has increased in value by 22 cents for a profit of $880.
So, you see even penny stocks can make you big money. We know these stocks are going to skyrocket so the risk is minimized. Yes, there are days everything turns red but most days everything is green. On bad days I may lose few hundred dollars but most days I am making $800 - $1000 dollars. It is a long bet, and we have laws of probability in our favor. Most days when stocks are down, it is only by a few cents, losses are minimum.
I pulled $10k out of my 401k 3 months ago and it is above $28k today. I would pull out more but I put the rest in silver back in July, lol.

COMEX 5000 SILVER FUTURES MARGIN INCREASES IN DECEMBER
Before the December hikes: margins were roughly $13,000
First Notice date December 26th, hike on the 29th: around $25,000
Second Notice date Dec 30th, effective Dec 31st): around $32,000
Two back‑to‑back increases
A more than doubling of required collateral in just a few days
Forced liquidations and the sharp selloff on Dec 29
Comex raised their margins again on Jan 13th. (5% on gold and 9% on silver)
CME shifted gold, silver, platinum, and palladium futures to percentage‑based margins, which effectively raises requirements when prices rise.
Now, margins automatically increase as the spot price rises.
To break it down:
All contracts are 5000 ounces
Currently, spot is $89 per ounce
5000 x $89 = $445,000
445,000 x 0.09 = 40,500
New margin requirement is $40,500 up front for new contracts
If you are unable to pay the difference between old margin and new margin requirements, your contracts are liquidated.
I am not 100% sure but, it almost sounds like, anyone wanting to keep their future contracts will have to fork up more money each day as the spot price increases.
Hold the line, they can't stop future prices. They are just trying to prevent a bank run on their silver vaults by weeding out the small investors
