The officer told him to drop the gun and put his hands up. According to what you wrote and what the video apparently shows, he did just that. If the kid had already ditched the gun, like you said, BEFORE he turned around and put his hands up, it would not be a justified shooting in the eyes of the law. The kid should never have run from the cops. He'd probably still be here if he would've just thrown the gun down when the cops pulled up. I can't imagine being in that cop's shoes. Prayers to both families. RIP.
