My husband and i have never done advent calenders before, so this year, we're planning on partaking to add some fun in a different way each day. Anyone into that kind of thing, or have any suggestions?

What holiday traditions is everyone looking forward to this year? The last 3 years have been pretty rough on me health wise, so we're really hoping to make up for lost time.

Words can't properly express the heartbreak i feel for you, i am so deeply sorry for all of the tragedy you have endured recently. I'm similar, i don't really post here often (though I'm trying to be more engaged, i like the feeling of comradery) but i all of my news comes from GA. Bless you, friend, i hope your heart is healing ♥

Its amazing how sinister things can be. Taylor Swift put out a new album (haven't listened, have 0 plans to do so) But there's a snippit of one of the songs thats being used in alot of instagram reels and youtube shorts... i wont share the example, because i would hate for anyone else to experience this. But i get in these headspaces of complete darkness and apathy, and this chunk of song is just... playing aggressively on repeat in my head, making me feel even more miserable.

I feel angry and resentful, and i realize that must sound stupid, its "just" a song.. but words and music are SO powerful, and i just think, "what if some girl younger than me who deals with the issues i deal with hears this, and it plays on repeat in HER head, and makes HER feel unworthy?" Its a horrible feeling.

I relate to that on a spiritual level! There's something so PURE about being on a long drive and listening to a new album from start to finish, really getting to focus on what you're listening to. I like listening to music at home, but its different, it isnt focused, I'm probably doing something while listening. And yeah, i think it takes an incredibly special song to be a "love" on first listen.

Oh, castilian spanish? Yeah, my husband's not a fan at all either. He thinks its overcomplicated on a linguistic level. He would know better than me though lol

Currently working on a halloween themed art piece, and i decided to use colored pencils... my god this is taking forever. The pleasure of seeing it come together is amazing, but the hand tension is unreal lol

Personally, i think japanese is very aesthetic sounding. The cadence and timber its generally spoken in is very easy for me to listen to.

Worst is a bias. My mother in law is perpetually in a foul mood, so if i never heard spanish again, it would be too soon lol

That sounds like absolutely amazing memories ♥ seriously amazing. I value that sincerity and authenticity in music as well.

i can't say that im super familiar with Miranda Lamberts back catalog, but i REALLY loved Pistol Annie's first album! I thought it was near perfect from top to bottom.

I can relate to generally not preferring female singers, for sure. For some reason, kpop hits differently for me. I really love how the messages are conveyed so purely, i don't even actually need to know the language to know whats being said. It can be incredibly emotional. My true personal favorite is a solo artist, some of her music is so evocative that i end up pouring tears. It really is amazing and beautiful, the power of music.

If you have any interest, no pressure of course. This is a duet she did with a male artist, i thought it may land abit more to your tastes https://youtu.be/4vv8XQVAv-0

Oh yeah, my husband and i have gone to quite afew of her shows! Red era was honestly an amazing tour, she can be an absolutely brilliant performer. She was a gifted artist, legitimately. Its really very sad that she's become so lost and misguided.

Ironically, i don't really listen to the boy groups lol different strokes for different folks though! I really appreciate how sonically different eastern pop is compared to current western offerings, feels alot fresher.

Recently found a new Kpop group I'm really loving, Le Sserafim. Their first two EPs are amazingly consistent. Its nice, considering Taylor Swift has gone down the drain (in multiple ways) and my favorite band Coheed and Cambria put out an album at the beginning of the year, so i was looking for new music to enjoy.

Highly recommend, if thats your thing.
